If you've been following a relatively obscure band and they start to become popular, do you tend to lose interest at some point? Is mainstream appeal a turn off when it comes to music?

If it was, I wouldn't love Green Day as much as I do. Now if a band/musician starts acting douchebaggy because of their newfound stardom, then that's another story.

What message would you put into a fortune cookie?

"Bad luck and extreme misfortune will infest your pathetic soul for all eternity."

If you get this reference, you are either my soul mate or new best friend.

So I now have three weeks until I'll be on the road to Baltimore and one of the greatest weekends any nerd has ever experienced. My cosplays are all but finished (I'm still waiting on my Lucia cosplay to arrive...getting impatient), I've already started stockpiling cheap food, IE. ramen, easy mac, ect. And I've started rounding up the various things I want to get signed. So far my list includes:

- a picture I had taken with Vic Mignogna at Katsucon this year and my Tsubasa artbook. (He already signed it at Katsu, but I want a different picture of Fai signed).

- my PS3 version of Eternal Sonata for Patrick Seitz

- either Fruits Basket volume 3 (since Kyo is on the cover) or the FMA boxset insert that has Barry the Chopper. I'm leaning towards Kyo.

I also had what I thought was a great idea for pictures in my Pichu cosplay. I have an old poke ball and I bought Ash and Pikachu figurines that I'm going to put inside the poke ball (which will be open) and pose with it. I think it'll look cute.

Which song lyrics send shivers down your spine and really hit you emotionally?

Well it isn't so much the lyrics as it is the vocals, but X-Japan's "Forever Love" brought me to tears the first time I heard it, and sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it. To listen to a song, not knowing the lyrics, and it has an emotional effect on you like that, I think tells you how powerful the song truly is.

Well, my Lucia is finished. I'm just waiting on it to be shipped. And my Pichu ears/tail never showed, even though they were supposedly shipped on 6/18. After a few failed attempts to contact the seller, they finally got back to me, saying that they are on vacation and they will find the tracking number when they get back on Tuesday. I find it a bit odd that if they had this tracking number, they never sent it to me AND that they are going to miraculously find it when the post offices re-open after the holiday. I honestly don't think they ever shipped it.

But I also mended my Gothic Lolita gown, so I should have at least two cosplays to wear at Otakon. I just really wanted to wear my Pichu cosplay. I already bought everything for it. I even got a pair of yellow chucks that I painted little poke balls on. Sigh.

Anyways, here's some of the pictures they sent me of my finished Lucia cosplay. It looks fantastic!

So Otakon is about six weeks away, and I'm nowhere near ready. I'm still waiting on word for my Lucia cosplay (which I still owe about $200 on, FYI), still have to get Courtney to mend my Gothic Lolita gown and since I'm insane, I need to work on a very last-minute Pichu cosplay. If all goes well, it'll be very cute. The hardest part will be the shoes. I wanted to wear a pair of Chucks, but they're so bloody expensive. What happened to them being the poor man's shoe? Oy. I may have to settle for a pair of ballet flats, but I know they won't look as good. If I had decided on Eevee, I wouldn't be having this problem. But I know a few different people who are cosplaying Pikachu and Raichu and I think another Pichu, so I wanted to complete the set. Plus, groups like that get majorly whored for pictures.

Now to clean. Such an exciting life I lead. -.-

Well I saw Alice In Wonderland last night It wasn't as bad as a lot of the reviews were making it out to be. The character were great, and Alan Rickman as the Opium-smoking catepillar was pure gold. I do agree with the people who compared the big battle scene to a poor man's Narnia, but it wasn't all bad. Johnny Depp was pretty awesome, but that's to be expected.

I really need to get started on my cosplays for Otakon, too. I'm debating if I should reuse my Gothic Lolita gown from Katsucon. I really love it, but since Otakon is in July, it'll be pretty damn hot walking around in a full gown, hoopskirt and long-sleeved shirt. I also wanna cosplay Ed Elrich and Lucia. Ed will be pretty easy, but Lucia will probably be a problem. My normal cosplay maker is completely backed up so I'll have to get it commissioned from somewhere online. And THAT, my friends, will not be cheap. At least I already have the wig and her pendant, though. ^.^

A little late updating, but Katsucon was simply awesome. <3 Got a lot of compliments on my Gothic Lolita dress, was interviewed at one point, lol, got some amazing swag and got to meet Vic Mignogna! Gah, I'm still swooning about it. He is easily one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Not to mention crazy hot and talented. I have pictures uploaded on my facebook, so if anyone cares enough to see, ask and I'll send the link. ^.^
